The EDP (Smart Specialization Strategy) phase in Albania is nearing its conclusion. Throughout this comprehensive process, 32 meetings were conducted in the form of roundtable discussions, workshops, and bilateral meetings with neighboring countries (more detailed information on these meetings can be found in the Activities section). These meetings involved over 1,100 participants from central and local government, academia, businesses, and civil society, with each actor playing a crucial role in identifying and prioritizing areas where innovation translates into added value for the economy.
On September 1st, a joint meeting was held by the National S3 Team and the coordinators of institutions participating in the Interministerial S3 Committee, who contributed during the EDP phase. This meeting served as a platform to discuss the findings and suggestions gathered during the workshops and roundtable discussions organized throughout the EDP phase, as well as to determine priorities based on the consultations held during this process.
This meeting was held under the special guidance of Deputy Prime Minister, Ms. Belinda Balluku, with the support of the State Agency for Strategic Planning and Aid Coordination.
Discussions during the meeting also focused on the draft agenda for the upcoming meeting of the Interministerial S3 Committee and the proposals that will be presented to the Committee regarding priority areas.
The closing event of the EDP, where all the stakeholders involved in the EDP will be invited to participate, and where all findings will be presented, is scheduled to take place within the month of October 2023.
